Our Program
At Mayflower Preschool our program is child-led and interest based. As educators we view ourselves as co-constructors of learning and implement teaching practices that extend on learning, support development and encourage children's agency.
Play-based learning
Our educators design a play-based program for children that aligns with evidence-based research and our service philosophy. Throughout the day, educators scaffold children's play by implementing teaching strategies or introducing resources that ensure the children are receiving opportunities for learning that are tailored to their individual needs.
Environments
Our learning environments are influenced directly by our philosophy. Environments are curated to foster open-ended play and creativity. We offer a nature play-based outdoor program for children to explore and learn to care for the environment.
School readiness
At Mayflower Preschool we have a program that is designed to cover all developmental areas and learning outcomes. Our educating team make deliberate and intentional decisions when planning each learning experience to ensure that children are practicing and developing the skills they will need for a successful transition to school.
